The Acorn School is Level 4 Rated School through Colorado Shines, Colorado’s child care Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS).  Providing high-quality early childhood education isn’t a simple task. Though most programs consistently strive to improve quality, financial realities make it a tough road for even the most dedicated providers.

Programs participating in the Colorado Shines QRIS have taken important steps in their quality improvement journey. As part of the QRIS, programs are given a profile that reflects an objective view of both their strengths and areas for improvement. This profile offers valuable suggestions on how to improve the overall quality of their program.

What is Colorado Shines?

Colorado Shines is a quality rating and improvement system for Colorado’s licensed early care and learning programs. Using proven methods, it measures quality based on how an early learning program supports its children, families and professionals. Once ranked, it helps programs improve their quality rating/level and connect with families who are looking for quality child care.

This website allows families to search for early childhood programs utilizing information such as location, hours, licensing and, most importantly, the Colorado Shines quality rating.

Why does it matter?

Research consistently shows that children who attend quality early care and learning programs are more likely to do well in school and less likely to drop out or need remedial education.
